Plans and runs

Each workspace has one plan. The plan sets how many test runs the workspace gets each month. Every project in the workspace shares them.

The plans differ only in runs and price. Every plan has the same browsers, recordings, GitHub checks and CLI. The Free plan needs no card.

Every new workspace also starts with a free week of unlimited runs.

What a month costs #Link to What a month costs

A paid plan costs its monthly price, plus each run past its allowance. These are the totals at a few volumes.

From 750 runs a month, the Team plan costs the same as the Starter plan or less. Runs past the allowance need a spending limit that covers them.

What counts as a test run #Link to What counts as a test run

A test run is one saved test, run once. A run of five tests uses five test runs.

A test that uses several browsers still counts once. A test can use up to four browsers.

A test run counts when the test gives a result:

• The test passed.
• The test failed at a check that found a different value on the page, such as the wrong total.

These never count:

• Creating a test with Re:agent, including the runs Rehearsal makes to check the new test.
• A failure where the test could not find what it looked for, or waited too long.
• A test that was not ready when the run started.
• Tests that had no result yet when you cancelled the run.
• A restart that Rehearsal makes on its own.
• A run that stopped because of a problem on our side. See Runs we could not finish.

A run needs room for every test in it. If fewer test runs are left than it has tests, it does not start. Rehearsal then says how many it needs and how many are left.

While a run is going, it holds room for its tests. When it ends, whatever did not count comes back.

On the Free plan, runs come back each month. Usage and plan shows the date. To run more before then, choose a paid plan.

On a paid plan, runs start again when the plan renews. To keep going before then, allow additional runs.

Additional runs and the spending limit #Link to Additional runs and the spending limit

The Starter and Team plans can run more tests than they include. These additional runs are off until you turn them on. The Free plan stops at its 25 runs.

In Usage and plan, turn on Allow additional runs and enter a spending limit. The limit is the most you spend on additional runs before the plan renews. On the Starter plan, a $50 limit allows up to 250 more runs.

The limit is a maximum, not a purchase. You pay only for the runs you use, on your monthly invoice.

When the limit is reached, raise it to keep going, or wait for the plan to renew. If you turn additional runs off, runs already counted or in progress stay on the invoice.

See your usage #Link to See your usage

Open Usage and plan in your workspace settings. It shows your plan, the runs used, the runs in progress and the runs left.

Every member can see it. By default, admins and owners change the plan and the spending limit.

On a paid plan, the workspace's first owner gets an email at 80% of the included runs. Another follows when they run out. The spending limit sends the same two emails.

Change or cancel a plan #Link to Change or cancel a plan

• Choose the Starter plan or Choose the Team plan takes you to Stripe to pay. Your runs are added once the payment is confirmed.
• To move between paid plans, press Switch at renewal. You keep your current plan and its runs until it renews.
• Cancel plan keeps the plan until it would renew. Then the workspace moves to the Free plan. Keep plan undoes this until then.
